On June 18, 2020, CDPH issued Guidance on the Use of Face Coverings, which broadly requires the use of face coverings in California when in public or common spaces. Complete details, including all requirements and exceptions to these rules, can be found in the guidance.
As California reopens, Californians must follow best practices: wear a face covering, wash your hands, stay home when sick. Cloth face coverings or masks help reduce the spread of coronavirus especially when combined with physical distancing and frequent hand washing. Starting June 18, Californians must wear face coverings in common and public indoor spaces and outdoors when distancing is not possible. Learn more about the guidance and limited exceptions here.
